Meet Instructor Chris Goering 

Chris Goering is a professor, teacher, and singer-songwriter from Fayetteville, Arkansas. His music fits in the genre of Americana with influences from country rock, alternative, and red dirt country. Songwriters like Mary Gauthier, John Moreland, Jay Farrar, and Jason Isbell are counted as some of Goering’s inspirations.

His 2016 EP Big Engine and 2009 LP Where He’s Going are available to stream or purchase at CDbaby, Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes. His background as a high school and college writing teacher is combined with experiences writing and performing songs to develop this workshop for seventh through twelfth grade students interested developing as songwriters. The workshop will focus on moving songwriting skills forward for participants through myriad experiences, including visits from special guest songwriters.
